whoaaaaaa i posted that so long ago... really weird that i actually got in and played interhall football and now im a manager lol looks like everything worked out perfectly!!

What if you are in the NROTC or AFROTC program. Can you still be a student a manager or is this too much? If I'm going to go to ND, I will probably need a pretty nice ROTC scholarship to help pay for it, but I was wondering if I still could be a manager. Thanks

bump. Is NROTC or AFROTC and being a sports manager too much to handle or not allowed?

I'm sure that it's not 'not allowed' and I would think that it is no bigger time commitment than being in a musical group and being in managers or anything else. I have to admit that I don't know how much time that ROTC takes, but there are varsity athletes in ROTC and if they can do both a manager can do both.

Really varsity athletes? Can football players? Because I was told I couldn't when when I was looking at some smaller D-1 schools, but this would be cool.

i know of a walk-on football player in ROTC (although he quit probably maybe because of time constraints?)

There are several varsity athletes in ROTC that do both quite well. You will have to manage your time, but no one is going to tell you "no". In fact, they often help the people playing athletics with some of the time restraints of ROTC.

irishgirl and jvon2432, i am very interested in ND and will be flying out in about two weeks to visit. It is seriously my #1/#2 school and I have been a manager for my high school basketball team since my sophomore year. Can you tell me a little bit about what it’s like to be a ND manager? I was hoping to somehow be able to balance premed and being a student manager, if that’s even possible.
