Sports or no sports.

I'm goign to be a junior this september.
Frosh gpa : 3.1 (approx)
Soph gpa : 2.7 (approx)

I played two years of lacrosse so far.
One year frosh one year varsity.
I'm deciding whether or not i should continue for one last year and not play my senior year.
or whether i shud just stop now and work on my grades.

My college in mind is Rutgers U.
If i decide to quit this year i was also planning to get a job of some sort.

Opinions?
thnx.

Unless you hope to get recruited to play in college, work on your grades.

you can probably work on your grades and still be in lacrosse. maybe lighten your load

well in my town..the coach takes it ....way too seriously..no junior has ever played under this coach and actually went on to a good college.

psh id choose grades which leads to college which leads to a successful life over sports any day!

idk man, its tough but if ur grades are suffering because of lax...id drop it

ya, especially if no junior under the coach went to a good college, as you say

Rutgers isn't that hard to get into. You can still play if you just work those grades up a little (approx 3.2+ uw). If you have your heart set on Rutgers and think you can pull off a decent SAT Score (1800+) you can easily get into Rutgers unless you want to do Pharmacy. However, if its really is too much for you I'd suggest quitting and concentrating more on grades as you will need those much more in the future.

Good Luck

I think you should play sports so that you have a balance in your life.

I would play sports to enjoy something awesome about high school, but it really wont help you get into rutgers, which is a state school - so most of their admissions is just about the numbers.
