Rutgers U???

My frosh gpa was about a 3.1 maybe 3.2
My soph gpa was about a 2.7-3.0
I'm going to be a junior this september.
I've played one year of frosh and one year of varsity lacrosse.
And some other out of school activites (no volunteering however)

I'd like to know what Rutgers admission was like this past school year.

Does rutgers hold academics in higher regard than sports and other activities?

Is volunteering really that helpful in getting you into college?(Rutgers specifically)
Is getting a part time job helpful in getting you into college?(Rutgers specifically)

Any information and help about getting into Rutgers U is appreciated.

My frosh schedule was basic:
Earth Science
Orchestra
English I
Algebra I
History I
Chinese I

My sophmore schedule:
Biology Standard
Geometry Standard
English II Standard
Business Law
Chinese II
Orchestra
US History I

My junior schedule will be:
Orchestra
Chinese III Honors
Algebra II Standard
US History II
Business Law Honors
English III Standard
Chemistry Standard

I don't have an outstanding schedule and am therefore quite worried.

Frankly, I'd worry about any school that doesn't, though lord knows they exist...

Are you a Jersey resident?

Given the quality of the sports programs at old RU, especially football and men's basketball, I'd say it's quite obvious that they hold academics higher than sports.LOL

Hm. Yes I'm a Jersey resident.
If i decide not to play varsity lacrosse senior year do you think Rutgers will see that as non commitment or somethign?

Like many state universities, but not all, Rutgers is numbers driven. From their website:

"Rutgers looks at all of the credentials a student submits but places a greater emphasis on the student's academic performance as reflected on his or her high school transcript. For the SAT, we will use your best individual critical reading (formerly verbal) and math scores from multiple test administrations."

So dropping a sport wouldn't hurt you if you have the numbers.

Rutgers is one of those schools which is better than its undergrads.

In all fairness to them, the RAC is the hardest place to play in the Big East. They had some really good wins/near wins last season. Still, they're Rutgers. :p
