Sports: Really Necessary?

or maybe their parents were somehow involved in it. i mean, my parents dont want me to play sports b/c "i should be focused on school"...."t's not gonna get me into college" blah blah blah
maybe if they had provided me w/ more opportunities to play sports or didnt made me quit basketball in the 6th grade, i would have been more athletically inclined but....
this spring i tried out for soccer and discovered that 1). i wasnt really into it 2). i was doing it 4 the wrong reasons and 3.) i just didnt have time to dedicate to it (i also thought that sports were a necessity for college admissions)

I suggest getting involved in some aspect of school, whether it be sports or a few clubs.

I don't do sports for one simple reason; I suck royally at most except tennis and badminton. I don't participate in tennis at my school because I would much rather focus on academics, and I'm just not that much of a sports person. I like to watch, not actually do them, LOL.

Haha...this thread reminds me a joke by Jay Leno:

What do you call someone who pretends to be a college student???

ATHLETE!

I didn't do sports, debate, theater, music, art, dance, journalism, or any other such high-commitment EC in high school. I have 11 hours of community service total, and haven't taken a PE class since middle school. All my "electives" for the past three years were foreign language and extra math courses.

I got into a good college.

(Maybe it was Math Club. But I doubt it.)

my parents told me i need to get good grades so or i can't play.. so yeah
