I really like Rhodes on paper, I'm wondering if anyone has info on what kind of $$ help is given for girls' sports- field hockey in particular. D is a sophmore, played varsity this year, has played for 2 years now. Lacrosse is her #1 sport, but Rhodes doesn't seem to have a team. We're coming from a smallish Southern prep school with values very similar to Rhodes. TIA.

Rhodes is an NCAA Division III school - no athletic scholarships are offered.

Both kids ( boy-girl twins) are competitive junior tennis players and have been talking with ( and being recruited-if you can call it that in DIII) by the Head Tennis Coach and Asst. since last Spring. While DIII schools do not offer scholarship $, if your child is an excellent student, the coach will often be the additional advocate for your child when it comes to merit $. I know this has happened in a number of DIII schools who have contacted one or both kids about tennis at their school. Has also happened at a handful of DII schools where money is good, but not what you see in DI.

I would contact Women's Lacrosse coach-I believe there may be a recruiting form on their page-and begin conversations to see what interest Rhodes would have in 2010. We met a girl last summer who was drawn to Rhodes because of school and a chance to play soccer-plus the varsity coach was terrific to her in the decision and merit process.

Feel free to PM me if I can provide any more information.
