i was a little apathetic in high school and didnt try out for sports, even though i absolutely love soccer. is it fun to try out club sports in college that you might not be awesome at?

club teams are usually for people who played in high school but weren’t good enough for the school’s varsity squad. It certainly doesn’t hurt to try out. If you’re not good enough, they will just cut you.

It sounds like you’re probably better off with intramurals, either creating a team with your friends or the school probably has a “free agent” system to match people who are looking to play with teams who need more people.

Depending on how big your schools is, Club Sports can be very, very competitive. My roommate last year and this year is the best soccer player I know. Fantastic shot and footskills. International student, etc. He didn’t make it past the first round of cuts. He was on his schools varisty team since 6th or 7th grade too.

It doesn’t sound like you’ll make a Club team. Play IM sports. Even then, if your school is big enough, high level IM sports (ex., Men’s A Soccer) could be very competitive.

oh yeah…sorry, i meant to say intramurals, you’re right…
