Hello to “The future 101” and all
So I do follow this forum, and I guess most of the people here are as anxious as I am about the decisions. But I periodically go to them and ask them, to calm myself down
For those who applied to CALS, no decisions have been sent out yet
Logging in to the house portal means nothing.
Everything will be settled by the next 2 weeks they said. So just keep calm, and live life normally.
If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot.

I can log into housing!!!

@thefuture101

Have you tried calling CALS? When I called CAS they were very willing to give me the date by which they expected decisions to be mailed, and also a lot of information on how the rolling admissions process works. I would just give them a call tomorrow, everyone I have spoken with at Cornell has been extremely eager to help.

@hunchback

It doesn’t really make any logical sense for them to be randomly allowing people access to the housing portal. Having access means you can submit an application for Cornell housing. It wouldn’t just happen automatically, so there has to be some sort of significance.

@ chinsepia,
I recieve an email too asking me if I am still interested in applying for finanicial aid, because they are missing some documents. I hope this means am in, and I will call them tomorrow.

Didn’t they say that CAS decisions come out last? So technically no one applying to CAS should be able to log into housing… Right? In other words I wasn’t able to login so I’m hoping CAS is just a delayed process

@xtarion
Well it sounds positive. I don’t see why financial aid would be processing forms for rejected students. It would make more sense if admissions forward accepted students to financial aid for financial aid packages, as opposed to them processing every applicant regardless of acceptance status.

So I guess stay cautiously optimistic! Looks like you and me are on the same boat.

What did you apply for? and for what college?

I applied to CALS as an animal science major.

@LoneStar20

As a fellow CAS applicant who can’t login to housing, that’s what I’m hoping is the case. From what I’ve gathered from past threads, most people that received acceptances received them within a couple of days of being able to login to housing. Since CAS doesn’t expect even the first round of acceptances to start going out until the 14th, and many not until the end of the month, I remain optimistic.

I called CALS a few minutes ago, they’re going to try and have all admission decisions out by thanksgiving break (22 Nov). They also said the standard notification process for accepted students is a email notification of acceptance followed by a letter. Rejected students will receive a letter only.

Please do keep in mind that previous trends have proven otherwise, some students were accepted via snail mail only.

Is anyone else able to log into housing portal. Pls also state which college ur applying to

My birthday is next week, so I was thrown off when I got a package notification today… I had a package and a letter. The package was a fedexed shirt and the letter was my updated car proof of insurance. lol

Bummer, what a tease.

Called the College of Human Ecology to ask if we could get an indication of when decisions would be sent. They looked up my file and asked me to leave a phone number for the director of transfer admissions to call me back. I received a call soon there after and I think, in part, because I’d talked with him at the beginning of the process (and because they have so few applications), he went ahead and let me know that they weren’t able to admit me. He was very positive and very kind though, and it ultimately came down to the number of credit hours I had being over 60 (though much of these were earned in high school and weren’t accepted by Emory) and my inconsistent performance in college courses (mostly those taken in high school).

@aigiqinf

I’m so sorry to hear that, don’t give up. I’m sure you’ll find success at Emory.

Would you mind giving us some stats on yourself? How many hours do you have?

*EDIT: Never mind, I just found where you posted your stats earlier in the thread. Good luck.

@aigiqinf

Sorry to hear that, best of luck at Emory.

I completed somewhere around 60 hours of college credit while still in high school and now I’m in my third semester at Emory, so I definitely see their point.

@aigiqinf

Well at least you know that it was for reasons beyond your control. I was just curious because I applied with 62 hours and when you said that having over 60 hours was a main reason for your rejection I became concerned that I might have the same outcome.

Good to know, so until thanksgiving I have to wait :/
