Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, thanks!

accepted!!!

Any ME got accepted?

If you get a decision can you please post your gpa, hours, and major so we can all get an idea of whether or not well get in?
@kjurnio I’m ME too and I haven’t got a decision yet either

BmE. 3.75 overall(50 hrs completed(36 inclass+14 AP) taking 18 credits this semester.

Still file under review

File under review. IE 3.4 GPA, all prerequisites plus some done

Starting to get nervous that I won’t be accepted this time around either. I’m not sure if Mechanical is more or less competitive than BME, and I got waitlisted for that for fall. The only thing that has changed is that I got an A in diff eq over the summer. I only have 34 hours + 7 AP and they don’t seem to like that very much.

However, I think the RETP program needs to be done away with or made a lot stricter. A person with a 2.7 should not be admitted over someone with a 3.9 just because they have more hours and went through a “program”. The GPA requirement should be at least a 3.3/3.5 especially for more competitive majors. The spots that they’re taking up make regular transfer WAY too competitive.

Apparently Tech believes they’ve earned the spots they are taking up. Regular transfer isn’t competitive, by their own data avg transfer gpa was ~3.6%. Freshman Admission is competitive.

Can I get into Cal Poly Pomona for computer science with a 2.6 GPA as a transfer?

I am currently a sophomore at the University of La Verne as a commuter (CA resident). The first year has been difficult for me with personal issues and also because I was declared as a Biology major which led me to receive many C’s (No D’s or F’s). For fall 2013 I am taking a programming class which I am positive I will receive an A in, as for my other classes I believe I will receive A’s and B’s. Though is it possible for me to get in with such a low GPA, if not are there any other options (UC’s or other CSU’s)? What should I do?

you should ask that question to a relevant audience

Did anyone else who hasn’t been accepted yet receive an email from Georgia Tech financial aid saying you had missing requirements? My file is still under review.

I’m pretty sure the RETP GPAs are included in their transfer admissions stats which is why it is that low. From my advisor for fall 2013 semester: “This year our admitted transfer students averaged a 3.8 GPA and earned more than 30 hours, advancing well into more rigorous courses that are relevant to major.” And from another counselor: “Our transfer admission process is highly selective and competitive with average incoming GPA looking to be approximately 3.9 for the upcoming fall term in our more competitive programs, such as Biomedical Engineering.”

Transfer admission isn’t competitive? I have a 3.9 overall 4.0 math/science and I was not accepted for BmE for fall 2013… thats not competitive?

I should’ve added that I’m in the RETP program at my school. I know the quality of a student who comes out of it with a 2.7.

There’s no doubt that freshman admission is competitive, but right now transfer admission is a lot more competitive than you think.
