@emart95 Keep us posted!!! Fingers crossed!

@xokikixo lol will do! Thank you!

@emart95 fingers crossed! I dont have anything until now. That day was for someone who applied AMC! When is for FMM!!

@Iamjenn I don’t know honestly! I think the decisions are mixed. I don’t think they are grouping them by major whatsoever. I would try to call the school this week since you’re an international student, right? You should have heard or be hearing very shortly.

@emart95 yessss! I’m international student but currently i attend univ in states. So i might just notify as postal mail. Not sure haha. Cuz most international student apply from their country and receive their letter in their country. I do not need to get visa, just get new i-20 from FIT if i got accepted!

@Iamjenn which address did you use? If you get mail in the US and put that as your current address as the one at your current school, you might have to expect it at that address. I would still call them anyway.

@ebs1995 i use my u.s address as mailing address and permanent address for my hometown address. Hopefully sent out and receive before thanksgiving and i want to enjoy holiday without worries! everyone wants it!

Hey everyone. I got my letter yesterday wait listed for he one year fashion design program . Does anyone know anything about the Waitlist or my chances of getting off of it.

If I’m not mistaken , I read on their Facebook page that when everyone gets their letters . They re look over your application and decide then if they will let you in . If you don’t mind what was your gpa ? I applied for the 2 year AAS . Fashion design program @Fasfit26

@Fasfit26, being wait listed essentially means you are a very strong candidate and have a lot if potential, but space in the program was limited. You pretty much need to have a back up plan because while they may reach out to you, it’s very likely they won’t. If they’re interested, they will contact you about joining next semester or in a future semester depending on availability. And like @Rikki1 said, if space is available in the program after they receive deposits, it’s possible they may accept you. It’s a tough spot to be in.

I’m a transfer student so I applied for the one year AAS in fashion design. My lasted semester gpa was a 3.8 but my overall was a 3.04 and I’m thinking that’s why I was wait listed .nthank you it is a tough place to be in

Oh okay and yes that could be why . Why didn’t you apply for the 2 year ? I’m also a transfer and my gpa was a 3.1 but I knew applying for 2 year would boost my chances @Fasfit26

@fasfit26 I was waitlisted last semester (fall 2014) and I decided to remain on the waitlist instead of choosing to go to other art colleges I was accepted to. They contacted me in July, telling me that I had a choice of starting my fall semester in Italy OR of starting the following semester( spring 2015) in NYC. My major is fashion design as well and I think in fashion design, everything depends on your portfolio. I think ur gpa is ok, since the minimum is 3.0 Good luck!

@limjuliana what was your gpa ? We’re you a freshmen ?

Limjuliana thank you for your experience that is encouraging . I welcome any other advice .

@limjuliana We’re you offered defferment in your initial Waitlist application or was this offered to you after you were already on the Waitlist?

@Rikki1 yes, and my gpa was 3.9

@Fasfit26 I had to send them an email to tell them that i wanted to remain on the waitlist! and they contacted me a month later or so ! make sure you are sending the email to the right email address !

@Rikki1 I though of applying for the two year as well but I applied to the one year as I thought it would be the most likely program as I have taken my ge already but yes that is a good idea to have applied to the two year I heard it’s less competitive than the one year I wonder if I could be placed into the two year now.

@limjuliana ok thank you for your response. So your initial letter didn’t mention the choice for deferment it was only in your second email that they gave you those options right? I do believe my portfolio was very strong but I definetly didn’t have a 3.9 . I would be happy if they offered me a differed enrollment . Congrats
