@Ram30823 congrats! getting an interview shows the schools interested in getting to know you more! I haven’t had an interview so I can’t be of much help, but I’ve read previously that the interviewer asks you lots of questions unique to you. the school is very good for really learning about their students rather than asking very standard interview questions. I wish you the best of luck!
I just found out I got in! I am waiting to hear from a ton other schools, but Columbia is my first choice depending on money. Anyone know how long it takes to hear about financial aid? I tried logging into the portal, but my login doesn’t work.
@CCappdirewolf are you still waiting to hear back from the school? if so I wish you the best of luck and really hope you get in!
& no worries! I really think it just wasn’t meant to be, especially since I don’t think there’s any way I would have been able to make the move out there that quick as an international student. I’ll be reapplying early admissions for fall, hope it works out for me this time.
@Ram30823 Its not rude at all. I am mostly applying to UCs as I’m in California - so UC Berkeley would be my number one, UCLA second. But Columbia is really my first choice - need to find out about money though. I’m also a little unclear about when that happens.
@wcrunaway Yes, I am still waiting. I’m pretty much ready to go. I have plenty of friends in NYC waiting for me so I’d be really disappointed if I didn’t get in, to say the least, since many of them are either ivy or seven sisters. I’ve worked really hard towards this.
@Barksdale Thats good. Ive been prepping for the test using a bunch of SAT practice books. Glad to hear that the test is actually pretty simple. How was the essay portion of the test?
@Gardenofbeasts I can’t remember. I wouldn’t worry about getting in so much (it’s not that selective, and if you’re on CC you’re generally putting more effort/thought into the college process than most) but rather about the cost. It’s veeeery expensive, even without factoring in living in the city.
@Barksdale it’s my number one choice. I would love to go to Columbia and earn my education there. I won’t have to worry about the cost since I’ll be on VOC Rehab. So you said the GSAE is pretty easy and the admissions is also not very selective? I guess this is all good stuff haha.
congratulations!!! how long do they allow you to defer your acceptance? hoping to see you guys there someday! I am still working on my application and on my way to take the GSAE soon!
Hi,
I read that you didn’t take a gap year but still got accepted. Did the admission office question your qualification because of this?
How were your SAT and SAT subject scores? How many years of work experience did you have?
Thanks!
Hey recently I know gs and I like to prepare and transfer in spring 2019. But I don’t take any sat or act cuz I’ve been to US for 2 years. I think I will take GSAE. Is it pretty similar to SAT, like the reading part? Also what’s the difference between early action and regular application? Which one did you choose @Barksdale
