Spring Admission

I was admitted for the Spring semester, but want to know if it possible to be added to a waiting list for the Fall semester?

I'm curious about that too. What are your stats?

Yeah me too. I won't be going if the spring semester is the only option.
I'd be like the guy who shows up in the middle of a movie, asking questions.

Yeah, I'd rather be on the waitlist than Spring 2009 admission. It was a great high-low moment when reading that letter...

Anyone know what it means, exactly?
Were we too late or too little?

The same thing happened to me today. I'm wondering what it means? Why would someone start school in a spring semester?

I was admitted for spring as well. I think it's a good thing though, I mean it's different, but I kind of like that. Studying abroad sounds awesome, and since that's what NEU is all about, internships and the like, I think it's only suitable. Another plus is that we were accepted, I mean they only offer this option to about 400 students.

Don't get me wrong I'm bummed about not starting in the Fall, but it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I know what you're saying, but I want to start college with everyone else. If you miss the first few months, everyone else will already have made friends and learned where everything is, and you'd feel all awkward.
You're supposed to work your way up to studying abroad in your sophomore or junior year, it'd be too weird to start off with it.
For me, at least.

If theres anyone on CC that started at NU in the spring and could provide some insight on the experience, it would be most appreciated.

For some reason, I selected Spring Admission on my Supplement, but that was a mistake. They accepted me for Fall, so I guess that's cool. Strange...

My son started this past spring and it's been a perfectly seamless transition for him. He completed a few recommended and approved courses in a local college this fall which were applied to his major and core course requirements. He's made some great friends, lives in a great apartment, (he was placed in an enhanced dorm with a kitchen, living room two baths), loves Boston and NU,and in no way regrets his decision to attend Northeastern four short months later than the "norm".

If you favor NU...do it!

Starting in Spring doesn't bother me. Other students will be entering then, and looking to make friends. I expect the Fall 2008 freshman will be welcoming and eager to show us the ropes.

Studying abroad is a great opportunity but it's expensive, too!!

@Jeff- Sounds like your son lucked out with the "upgraded" accommodations. Thanks for your comments. :)

I was accepted for spring also....what exactly does that mean? Not good enough for fall? lol

me too
what do they mean by "not good enough for fall?"

i think that this just means that if there was space they would have admitted you into the fall, but since you were definately qualified and they do want you there they have accepted some more to fill out the spaces in the class. I would think that it is much better then getting rejected or waitlisted.
