Do most people apply for fall or spring admissions? Why?

Most schools only have fall admissions. At least in the biosciences.

I think most people are going for fall admissions. As far as I know the acceptance rate is higher and some schools even say that they won’t give fellowship/TA/RA’s etc. for students admitted in spring.

Hope someone can make this clearer

I’m aware that some schools only admit fall applicants, especially with the budget crisis at schools during these tough economic times. But if they do admit Spring applicants, is the acceptance rate lower?

So far, I’ve heard conflicting opinions about this. One person said it doesn’t matter while BoogieEngineer just stated the opposite.

You would have to inquire at the programs that interest you.

Funding is the primary issue. Most competitive programs favor fall admissions and only guarantee funding or aid to this group of admits
