Maybe I’ll just change my major.
@temoc22 - If you are still looking for your chances- I noticed in last years thread that those who didn’t hit 30+ hrs until after fall semester were literally the last ones to get accepted. I actually saw one applicant similar to you get accepted to COLA GOvt with 40+ hours and 3.41 gpa really late in the game -like end of Dec or first days of jan!. So unless you arent flexible and cant arrange housing in short notice, it may be worth waiting for.
Guys! Make sure you convert your Gpa to UT’s plus/minus Gpa system. If your current school does not use the plus/minus system your Gpa will most likely be lower.
Just a heads up:)
@sunshine97 how do you convert it? / is it just a normal 4.0 scale?
also does anyone know if a letter of rec can be sent in before you application is? And does the person who writes the rec send it in or do they send it to you and then you upload it? Very confused on that whole process
@mccombsorbust Basically after you submit your ApplyTexas application and have access to MyStatus (where you can track the progress of your application), you can enter the contact information for whoever you want to request a letter of recommendation from. They will receive an e-mail from UT with a link to upload the letter.
@longhorntobe perfect thank you!
Hey that sounds encouraging! Housing would be no issue for me, I have plenty of connections in the area.
Does everyone on this thread have IN REVIEW at the top of your mystatus screen? Just wondering if it means anything at all. Maybe it doesnt change at all.
If I am applying to McCombs for Fall 2016 Transfer is there any benefitting of applying now verses the deadline in March?
Anyone else receiving an error message “Forbidden 403” when trying to log on?
Never mind. It must have just been a glitch.
Was kind of hoping they were updating applicant status accounts.
@transferut10 apparently they review applications in the order they were sent so might as well send it in when it’s all done why wait
@bookmom07
Wouldn’t that have beennice!. But admission office said first notices will go out mid nov. :-c
Should recs be addressed to the general office of admissions or the office of admissions for the college you’re applying to? Like liberal arts
Should I have applied by now? I’m trying to transfer for Fall of 2016…?
@mccombsorbust The preferred method of recommendation submission is to go onto UT MyStatus, and to send a request directly to the person who will be recommending you. If you waive your FERPA rights to view the letters, it will lend them more credibility as well.
@Sparklekim101 I believe that the deadline for your application and supporting materials is December 1st.
No, the app is due March 1 for transfers, dec 1st is for freshman @Sparklekim101
Yes but who should the letters be addressed too? @johnnylawson
@mccombsorbust If you’re having the person submit them via the preferred method, they won’t actually need to write an address anywhere. A simple “To Whom it May Concern” at the top of the page would suffice. The Document Upload system on the UT MyStatus page will automatically bring the recommendation letter to the correct office for your application’s review.
