Does anyone know when our appointment times will be posted for Spring? I have a question on the order that I should enroll for my classes as well. I need some suggestions. I want to take chem 3a, chem 3al, math 16b, german r5b, and public health 116.
Is this a good plan for registering for these classes?
Chem 3al-Phase 1
Math 16b-Phase 1
German R5b-Phase 1
Chem 3a lecture-Phase 2
Pub Health 116-Phase 2
I dont really care much about getting into public health but I need to get into the other three classes. Instead of the above plan, should I phase 1 both Chem 3A & 3AL with German R5B, leaving Math 16b for Phase 2? I know there are two sections for chem 3a lectures but there is only one section of math 16b that I want to get into so I am hesitant to leave math 16b for phase 2. Aaaaahhh, I hate telebears. Somebody give me some advice :(.

Well, for me, I’m taking Math 16B as of now and I phased II it and still got in with only one set of lecture. I’m not sure if there will be a lot more people signing up for spring though.

I would advice not to do lab phase 1 lecture phase 2. I know a couple of people who did that and did not get into lecture (which means you cannot take lab). Phase 1 both chem 3a/l and r5b. You should be able to phase 2 math classes.
And leftist: PH can be a 3 unit class. Just take the easy peasy discussion. :D

@Leftishominid: Why would it be a bad idea to have 14 units spring semester? What should we take instead of 14?

In terms of course load, is there really any difference between 14 and 15-16 units? Probably not, but your telebears appointment will be a bit later than others.

Not a bit it in the long run it could be a lot.

For example, say at the end of you sophomore year you have less than 60 units because you only took 13-14 units each semester, than your jr-fall sem TeleBEARS appointment would be during the week with all the sophomores instead of during the week with the juniors.

I just have a quick question: Do community college classes count under non-AP level?

Based on the current schedule I have right now, what should I replace Pub Health 116 with in order to not fall behind. I still need the Arts & Lit Breadth and Philosophy & Values breadth. What is an easy 3/4 unit course for the schedule I have right now? Should I just do Pub Health 116 with discussion instead for 3 units total? As for doing chem 3a lec phase 2, why would I not be able to get in if there are two sections and 1000 seats. I understand why it is hard to get in this fall since there is only 1 section but shouldnt it be easy for me to phase 2 chem 3a lecture for spring since they will have 2 sections?

I forget that there’s 2 sections. So you’re chances are greater. Just be aware that if you don’t get in to lecture, you’re going to have to drop lab too. And don’t worry too much about the difference between 14-15 units. I haven’t always hit 15 and I still get into my classes (albeit the waitlist can give you ulcers haha).

leftist, does the classics class fulfill the pre-med english requirement as well?

8ams… here we go again… T.T

When exactly will they start to email/inform us about our spring telebears appointments?

lol email? do you think you’re attending a school that cares about you?
it’ll be on bearfacts in a few days probably

What’s a telebear?

Hi I have a question about my spring schedule too! What classes should I phase I/II for? (I’m a freshman)

Math 1B
Econ 1
UGBA 10
Japan 1B

Is it still doable if I add a French R1A class? I want to finish my R&C requirement by the end of my sophomore year.

@Batman: They emailed us before our freshman year…I assumed they still cared once we actually started attending. :(

they will email you are the 4th that your appointments are up. Apparently when they moved the schedule release date up they could not move the appointment listing date (probably because they use the number of units you are taking this sem as part of the TeleBEARS appointment time calculation).

oh gotcha.
Thanks:)

Of these classes, which should be Phase I’d?

Physics 7B
Math H53
CS 61BL
EE 20N

I’m thinking that Physics should definitely be Phase I, but not sure which other one.

I’m also interested in knowing what courses should be done Phase I (Spring Freshman year)

CS 61C
EE 20N
CS 70

I might take another class, but not sure what else I’d take (would have to be fairly easy and fufill an AC requirement or an upper division humanities requirement probably).

This semester I phase 1’d Physics 7C and there will still open seats when I was trying to phase 2 CS 61A (which I was waitlisted for), so I want to avoid that. Thank you.
