SRP Info

So I, for the life of me, cannot figure out what SRP is and how it works. Everyone I talk to is surprised...I mean, can anyone kind of give me some info to start me off in the right direction?

Thanks!

much appreciated.

go here <a href="http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/urc-care/Postings%20for%20Winter%20Qtr%202009.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/urc-care/Postings%20for%20Winter%20Qtr%202009.pdf</a></p>

find position. email the dude you want with your resume. interview with dude. get contract signed if you want srp credit. done.

SRP is Student Research Program. SRP 99 gives you minimum of 2 units of Pass/No Pass credit, so it's basically a way to get academic recognition or credit for helping out in a research lab. Usually, if you like the lab you work in, an SRP 99 can lead into a SRP 199 directed research, which can give you basically anywhere from 2-8 graded units. 199s are useful, as they're basically free As as long as you don't mess up, turn in a paper/poster, and don't **** off your PI too much.

where is the srp 99 class? like under what category on the schedule of classes?

thanks!

its not on the schedule. you sign a contract with the prof/pi and then you get two units for it.

it depends on what department your 'faculty mentor' is under. then you sign up through my ucla under contract courses.

the deadline for SRP has already passed (friday of 2nd week), so its too late to get credit for this quarter.
