I thought it took a long time to get the acceptance/rejection news. Maybe I am wrong, how long does it usually take? Less than a week? That would be awesome.

When did yall apply? I applied last night... and waited for hours for the confirmation email... literally like 2 1/2 hours for it... still no email... I get an idea... AIM mail apparently marked it as SPAM! Man was I mad. It was sent as soon as I sent in the application though. Not acceptance, just the confirmation.

I applied the night it opened, around 7 PM EST. Man I thought I would find out in a day or too seeing that I have a pretty good looking application. Sounds like its going to be a long time before I find out...

I finally got it in yesterday:). Hopefully we'll be finding out soon. What sessions did you guys choose A or B or both? I chose A or else I would have missed 2 regents.

Last year S applied at the earliest possible moment -- Jan 1, I believe. He got an acceptance e-mail on the first day that the holiday season was over.

Josh -
"What do you mean by the holiday season ended? When the cadets go back to school?"

I was talking about when government employees had to go back to work after the 1st. (My husband works for the government. Since Jan 1 was on a Sunday last year, he got Jan 2 off.) We "assumed" that AFA employees got the same time off. Son received e-mail on the 3rd.

Yeah, I applied the 3rd. I know the West Point SS gets back to you like three days later, but I have no idea how long the Air Force Academy takes to get back to you.

SLS opened applications on December 15th though, so I would expect that the first qualified applicants would normally be getting accepted now for SLS.

I'm pretty sure it was supposed to open on the 1st but because Gerald Ford died, it extended the holiday and closed Federal facilities until the third, that's the first day I was able to apply anyway, and I was trying every couple of hours.

Just a head's up, the Air Force Academy tends to take longer than West Point and even Annapolis do. When I first started applying to USMA, the admissions panel let me know before a week was up that they wanted me (I didn't even have half of my application done). For USAFA, I pretty much had everything squared away before school started in September, and I didn't get an LOA till October. Things just take more time with the Air Force, in my experience. But it's definitely worth the wait! :)
