so do you think i'll be alright deerfield?

Yeah I think yours is fine for D, but you'll need to work hard on the rest of your application. Last year I got waitlisted at Deerfield and my SSAT was like 51%...

51%? Yea. My Essays are okay, and I have a lot of Ec's. I'm just so overworked right now. I have to do 3 apps by tomorrow!

then stop procastinating james!! lol get off of CC, i know its an addiction. so hard to resist :)

haha (L) Im just sooooooooooooo worried. :( Is Senay your real name?

yea you have a decent chance... I don't think that the SSAT's are that important as long as you have really strong essays, lots of ec's, well rounded person, etc.

This is straight from Choate's website: Choate Rosemary Hall: Admission » FAQs

"It is very difficult to provide a profile of an average admitted student as our admissions process is subjective. Our admissions staff takes great time and care to understand each individual applicant within the context of their environment. However, in an effort to provide some guidance, the majority of students entering in the third or fourth forms (9 th or 10 th grade) have SSAT’s in the mid 80's and grade point averages of about 3.7. The majority of our older students maintain similar grades and a median SAT score of roughly 1300. Please understand that there is no minimum requirement with regard to test scores and that the admissions staff views a student’s highest score on each portion of the test regardless of the number of times a student tests. In many cases, students whose profiles do not fall within our median range are admitted if we feel the student has the work ethic and intelligence needed to succeed at Choate."

So you definitely are in the running for all these schools. While your scores won't help distinguish yourself for a school like Choate or Deerfield, they definitely won't hurt you and if the rest of your resume is good your scores will help solidify the credibility of your academic performance.

last year i was applying for sophomore year to hotchkiss and andover and i had an ssat of about 87 or something and i got waitlisted, so make sure you work really hard on the rest of your application
