SSAT January 4th

Do any of you know if you get a high percentile in math, lets say 90’s and a good percentile in reading such as high 80’s. But a terrible score lets say under 50 in verbal if its all over. Cause Im pretty sure that what I got to be honest

You’ll probably still get a percentile in the 80s

THANK YOU, I am not that worried cause I have a really good feeling about math

I don’t know about myself math results are really skewed.

thats true, for some reason I’m really confident cause I saw all of the trick questions and read all the questions carefully, and gave myself 5 minutes each time and usually fixed one or two trick questions that I missed. Im 100 percent!!!

@BHADES Last time I took it I got VERY similar to what you described, and 78th overall.

YES!!! I would like that score very much actually haha, I mean, I did hear that they would like a very high math score

Oh no, when I think about it, I did get a question wrong! is this bad, I heard if you get one question wrong in quantitative you lose a lot of points. It was the question with the lemonade!

Yeah, math results get screwed up really fast once you start missing questions. My friend missed two and got in the high 80’s for math. But hey, don’t worry about it, SSAT’s over, and just make sure your essays are sparkling!

@BHADES I missed one last time and got 99th

I have never been more relieveed!!
The Math had some tricky questions, but not a big challenge. Attention was required though.
Reading was not difficult! I actually finished the whole thing 10 minutes before the time elapsed (even though i have done A LOT of practice for different tests on reading sections)
And finally the Verbal. The part i most feared. Turned out to be easy  There were like 7 or 8 words that i didnt really know but overall it was all well

Actually, no. You can miss a lot in math and do well. I got 7 wrong and omitted a few. I still scored in the 91st percentile.

I’m pretty sure it’s because he is in ninth grade, so he’s compared to others in ninth grade. But I don’t know, I’m just repeating what I heard. However, I hope that isn’t true, but I think it could be.

Oh yeah. Mr nephew made a good point. All of my stats are for 8th grade, so my scores may be inflated (presuming that it becomes harder to score well as you get older). I honestly don’t know any 9th grade applicants, so I can’t make a comparison. Still, I don’t think one question would tank your entire score.

Actually I think I got it right haha, and yes I am in ninth grade. I really need a high math score cause I did absolutely terrible in verbal and reading in not so sure but I am really good at factual stuff. The only problem I had was the poem

@BHADES the first time I took the SSAT I thought I tanked the verbal section and that was actually my highest score. Don’t worry. I usually suck at poems but this one I understood.

@needtoboard I got an overall 79%, I don’t do well on these types of tests but I was surprised. I feel better about this one though. I’m applying to Middlesex, and their average is somewhere in the 80’s, I think like 84 so I’m not too far of track.

@ccnaf14 I’m in the same boat as you score wise. I don’t do so well on these tests either.

SAME! im so excited to get my scores back I am dying to see my quantitative

did you take the ssat in albania?
