SSAT question...

I know that the SSATs can be taken more than once...but if you take the SSAT at the end of an admissions year....do the schools get that school even of it's for the prior admissions season? I ask because my daughter just took the SSAT today....it was the last test on this season's calendar. We will apply to BS this coming fall...just wondering if today's scores will be available to the schools in the fall? Thx

My child took the SSAT the June before applying to BS as well. Did very well and we wanted to use those scores. Technically you are supposed to submit scores within the same academic year as you are applying. So for you that would be September 13’ going forward. However, in practice all but 1 of the 6 schools my child applied to agreed to take the June scores. My child had to re-take the exam that fall for the one school. So you can choose to submit or not submit the scores from todays test depending on how your D fares. But do check with all the schools she is applying to for clarification on what they will accept.

Thank you HarvestMoon1!

Did your child take the lower level test as she is only in 7th grade? Because those will not be applicable, as far as I know. Also, just wondering- do you know what schools you are applying to already?

Yes, you are correct freshlook, BS’s will only accept the upper level test.

Yes freshlook she’s in the 7th grade. As of now we know we will apply to George School and NMH. Still want to add a few more but haven’t had time to look into them as of yet like I would like to…with summer coming, I will have more time to do this. Thanks for the info about the mid level test not being looked at. That is what I was wondering. I wasn’t sure since its only a 4 mo difference between this test that she took and the first one of the next admission season in October.
