I was just looking at the SSAT testing dates and realized that if I am to take two of them it would either be in October and November, or November and December. Yet I think that December may be too late to redo the SSAT if I did badly on the first one, because the scores could take a while. My question is how long does it take for SSAT scores to come to the school and yourself, and also if it is better to take it the ones in October and November.

The scores come in one month, probably before the next date. Check the website to see when scores are released for the October…?

Really? I read on the official site that it takes about two weeks. @rizzledrizzle, did yours take yours a month?

When I took my SSATs, I took them in October. Then I got my scores, electronically, which was about 2 weeks after I took them. I took them again in December, improved my score by 8 percentage points, and was very happy. It worked out super well!

It was something like that. I chose email and mailed scores, and the email came first.

Well how about my other question? Which setup is better?

I notice many schools ask you to take the test in specific months (Nov/Dec), my d is registered for Oct and we’re hoping not to re-take it…

Is there any problem with submitting an October score to schools that specify Nov/Dec?

I have no idea. I am honestly going to take it once in nov so I have more time to prepare.

Last year my D used October test results and they were accepted by all three schools to which she applied (SAS, SPS, CRH). I can’t imagine things have changed, but it doesn’t hurt to check with the schools on your list.

I think the general rule is that you should take the test during this school year, so any test after Sep. should be valid. Nov/Dec is simply recommeded so no deadline will be missed.
