I recently took my actual SSAT Upper Level exam and yesterday I had the chance of seeing my score. The score report said that I had a score of 2232 (under the column that says “Your Scaled Scores”. I wanted to know if this score is good or not and what are my chances of getting into a good independent day school in New York with this test as part of the application requirements (along with all of my written responses and such)?
Hi those are amazing scores! You would be at least in the 93rd percentile and up. What schools are you applying to? As far as I know, that fits the range for even the top schools such as Exeter and Andover. Good luck!
I am applying to schools like Spence, Nightingale, Brearley, Dalton etc.
Is it okay that for one of my sections, I got 76%. However, on Math I got 800.
76% is ok. The schools you are applying to should be more than happy to accept you. Just realize, the ssat isn’t everything . There are so many factors that are also important
Thank you.
When did you take the test galaxy101?
I took it on November.
Just remember that your score is not a silver bullet. My DD applied to a very limited number of schools last year with a 2260 (95%), straight As, 3 sports, student leadership, great recs, and good personal/interviewing skills. She did NOT get in to the school she really wanted. Applying again this year with same grades and an even higher SSAT 2330 (98%) and we are not kidding ourselves that this will get her in. Be proud of yourself , but acknowledge that this is truly only “one part” of what schools are looking at. Wishing you well.
