SSAT Scores for Lawrenceville, Andover

I am going to take the SSAT three times in total and I already took it two times. I have improved A LOT, but my first time was really bad and I was wondering how private schools look at the scores? Do they only see the best score, or do they see every single score, and would a really bad first score affect them?

Ex. If someone took it three times and got a 95, and someone who only took it one time and got a 95, would it matter?

First score - 76 percentile (overall)
Second score - 87 percentile (overall)
Third score - maybe around 93 percentile (overall)

My extracurriculars are really good I am just worried about my SSAT scores^^, please let me know what percentile I have to reach the third time to have any real chance, and how the schools will look at my previous score. Thanks!

They only see the test you decide to provide. In your hypothetical, you would send only the third score. They’d never see your first two scores, assuming you haven’t already provided them. They’d only see you as 93rd percentile girl.

Okay good haha, and do you have any idea if 93 percentile is good for Lawrenceville?

93rd percentile is good for every single private school in the United States, boarding or day school. Lawrenceville included.

Thank you so much!

93rd percentile meets the average threshold for every top school except for Exeter to my knowledge.

Is average good enough? Lol

Average is average for a reason. There will be students above, and students below. But in no way will being average disadvantage you, after all, it is the average at the school to begin with.

Haha understood, thank you very much!

Did you already send in the other scores? If not, why not wait and see your third score. That was a nice jump from the first sitting to the second for sure!

No I haven’t sent them in yet, but thanks!
