say ur score
the schools ur applying to
verbal/reading/math
i got 55/61/60
andover, exeter, pingree, govenors

Verbal Score 674
(Personal Score Range: 653 - 695, SSAT Percentile 58%)

Math Score 731
(Personal Score Range: 710 - 752, SSAT Percentile 71%)

Reading Score 680
(Personal Score Range: 659 - 701, SSAT Percentile 69%)

Total Score 2085
(Personal Score Range: NA, SSAT Percentile 68%)

‘Andover’, ‘Exeter’, ‘Noble and Greenough’

Pretty sure that the average SSAT scores for Andover/Exeter are above 90%. That’s not to say that you can’t get in if your scores are lower, but just shows what sorts of kids matriculate…

I read somewhere on here that SSATs may be a good barometer of “fit” for a school. For example, if you are a 99%, you might not be the best fit for a school where the average is 75%…and vice versa.

As they say, your mileage may vary.

Did it ever occur to anyone that what may be 2:26 AM may actually be 8:26 AM in another part of the world? I was wondering when someone was going to notice my strange hour of posting! Thanks to those folks who stuck up for me. Vive le…

I guess the OP wasn’t asking for commentary/chances…just a list of scores & schools applying to…so to the OP, I apologize for helping shift the thread in another direction. I guess I was thrown off by the “good/bad” in your title.

Waiting for the rest of my clan to get moving this grey matin, so I can subject them to more museums and kilometres of walking.

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

SevenDad- You seem like You are knowledgeable regarding the admissions process. Can You please chance me? The thread can be found on my profile by clicking Chance me for Exeter!!!
Thanks!

Exeterrr…Despite the reaction to my reply in post #3 (which I tried to make neutral), I am not a fan of “chance me” threads or even offering people an opinion on this matter.

BTW, I hardly consider myself knowledgeable in these matters…I’m just the parent of a prospective student who has been hanging around CC perhaps a little too much? ;-P

As I’ve noted in other threads, I consider the entire admissions process a “black box” that can never be truly figured out by anyone who is not an AO. You should apply to the schools in which you are interested and which seem like a good fit for you (consult your parents for their input as well). That is the same advice I am giving my own daughter.

Its ok! Can I ask what schools Your Daughter is applying to?

I got a:
96 Verbal
89 Reading
78 Math

I’m applying to:
Exeter, SPS, Groton, Andover, Deerfield, and Middlesex.

I’m applying to:
Andover, Exeter, SPS, Hotchkiss, Groton, Deerfield, L’ville, Choate, WRA, and US.

I got:
90 Verbal
96 Reading
86 Math
94 Total

99 verbal 800
99 reading 784
99 math 800

applying to exeter, andover, deerfield, westminster, mabye taft

Is it true that, 1st time is bad and second time is better?

Not necessarily. Many people (myself included) decide to just take it once if they are satisfied with their score.

also, schools view how many times you’ve taken it. even if you get a high score the second time, it will not be as impressive if you just took it once

handan, schools only see if you have taken it more than once. You could have taken it 4 times or 2 and it will just say “multiple scores” or something like that. I have been told by several admissions officers that kids are “absolutely not penalized” for taking it more than once.

of course they wont be penelized, but its definitely a factor.

Mine are:

Verbal Score:761 PR: 740 - 782 Percentile: 91 %

Math Score:788 PR: 767 - 800 Percentile: 93 %

Reading Score:731 PR: 710 - 752 Percentile: 92 %

Total Score:2280 PR: NA Percentile: 96 %

Schools: Andover, Hotchkiss, Exeter, Taft, Cate, Choate, Deerfield and Madeira, listed in order of interest.

To SevenDad: It was 7:27 AM here when you posted :)

You kids need to be more careful about identifying yourselves on this site. I mean, how many girls who live in Iceland will be applying to these schools?
