ssp?

I just got mail regarding Harvard Secondary School Program.
While the courses described seem to be interesting, how would SSP sound on a college application? Would it be more favorable than an internship somewhere?

Also, if anyone has been to SSP, was the financial aid generous?

In my opinion, an internship would look much better. It's good to take college classes, but the program is very expensive and most of the kids are very well to do. An internship would show initiative, interest, and ability.

thnx for the feedback

For the record, not everyone is wealthy. Also, if you do well in fairly challenging courses, it looks great if you apply to the school later.

If Harvard is your top pick, going to the program could really boost your app. Otherwise, it's just another college summer program (although it is generally well respected).

As far as financial aid goes, you never know until you apply. It was great for some of us, and pretty crappy for others. It depends on how badly they want you.

Merit-based financial aid at Harvard? Interesting.

Not merit based, but they don't guarantee financial aid money to all ssp students admitted.

it is merit-based and need-based
