St. John's Communication Program?

I'm extremely interested in applying to St. John's University. I'm pursuing the major of Communications and hope to be a News Broadcast Analyst once I graduate. How is the Communications Program at St. John's? Is Fordham or Pace a better option? I will be applying to all three, but I was wondering which is, in your opinion the best communications school.

Bump^^ anyone??

There are many good schools in NYS for Communications. There is the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse U that is famous and is nationally ranked #2 on some sites. Ithaca College has an excellent little program. In NYC, Fordham has a highly regarded and ranked Communications program as does NYU, while Columbia has a famed School of Journalism. The New School also has a strong department. These are probaly the best programs in NY state with Syracuse at the top, but I am sure there are a few others I failed to mention. FWIW as you asked about Fordham, many sources have favorably compared Fordham’s program with Syracuse’s school. Marshall MacCluan (considered the father of mass communications theory) taught at Fordham and some powerful faculty such as Paul Levinson teaches there today.

I don’t know how the program is at St. John’s, Pace, Wagnar, Hofstra or others. Research such programs (I think US News and World Report might have a ranking for communications) and also consider the admissions requirements of target schools and how closley your stats match.

Good luck in your search
