St. John's University (NY)

Hello, I am currently a senior in high school, and have been accepted with a full scholarship into St. John's University, along with being invited to join the honors program. I wasn't really interested in St. John's until the scholarship (mainly applied due to a free application with no essays and a quick response time, I just wanted an acceptance letter to be completely honest), but now I am seriously starting to consider it.

Now for the point of this topic. I have yet to visit St. John's, so I was wondering if anyone has attended, or known someone who has attended, and has impressions of this university? Things such as student life, the quality of academics, and more specifically what it is like in the honors program, as they relate to the Queens campus. Thanks in advance.

bump (length)

hey im in basically the same situation.. i know 2 really smart kids who graduated from my high school over the last few years who did go there..
is the $5,800 given to you if you live on campus or automatically? because that makes a difference..
post if you find anything interesting out. i think i want to visit now.

I'm a high school senior that attends school in Queens. I received a full scholarship as well, as did a handful of my friends.

St. John's is seen as the safety of all safety schools here (except for the Pharmacy program which is highly selective.)

If its for pharmacy, its a no-brainer. St Johns pharmacy program is one of the best.
As for everything else, a lot of people consider it their safety like mentioned aboved, but its a decent school. Can't make a decision unless you tell us the other schools you are comparing it with

i applied st johns, umd, berkeley, cornell and umichigan ann arbor
so far i've been admitted to st johns (full tuition and honors) and umd (honors, gemstone and honors humanities)
im in state for umd and i'll get scholarship $ there, not sure how much yet though

i applied for B.S. in physical science at st. johns
