Anyone attend or have attended. Know anyone who has attended. How was the whole atmopshre I felt a pretty good vibe but it was just one visit. Anyone have stories or anything about this school

i was admitted there and i know someone who goes there. he likes it

I'm most likely going their and maybe transfering after a year or two depending on how I do and how I like it

I know someone there - he finds it very easy and just wants to do well and transfer out.

I'm planning to go there next year for the 6-year pharmD program. I like the campus and the people there are very nice.

What are you planning to major in?

If I go I will be communting. I don't know what I want to do with my life yet so I'm undecided

Hi. I’m new to this thread. I used to go to St. John’s University (Queens Campus) from Fall 2004 through Spring 2006. I lived on campus for my first year and it a good experience. They’ve built new buildings on the campus since then so I imagine its a little different, but if you have any questions, you can ask me. I also applied for readmission to the Fall 2010 semester and found out I was accepted today! :)

What can I tell you? Well, everyone gets a free laptop and you can keep it as long as you are enrolled in classes. When you graduate you get to keep it. If you transfer, you have to give it back or they charge you for it. Before I returned my laptop in 2006, they put a $1500.00 charge on my account!

The dorms are really nice. I lived in a two bedroom suite on Hollis Hall’s 4th floor. There is an older student who also lives in your hall and you can go to them with any problems you may have. My room had 1 bunk bed and one single bed and so did the other room. In between the two rooms was a living room, bathroom (with a shower only), and a semi-kitchen with a mini-fridge. There was no stove in my room but there was a stove in one of the common rooms on the 5th floor if I can remember correctly.

Aramark was the cafeteria food provider and a lot of students complained because they put laxatives in the food. Every time you ate you had to run to the bathroom right afterwards. Aramark’s contract was eventually replaced by another company’s and the food quality improved a great deal.

I was in the Honors Program and in the back of the library there was a door where Honors students could swipe their St. John’s ID card to gain entry. It was a lounge, a quiet place to study and have intellectual discussions. I hope it’s still there.

Both of my parents graduated from St. Johns in the late eighties. At that point it was still a commuter school. They were both surprised at what the school had when they sent me information a few years ago, so I don’t know much about it except that it’s very quickly changing.

Four year old thread people…four year old thread…
