St. Martin de Porres Finalist

If I was informed that I am a finalist for this grant, does this increase my chances of being accepted to the university? My grades are all 90's for all four years, my EC's are pretty good and i am active in the community, but my only problem is that my SAT's are a tad lacking.
Just a nervous student looking for some answers!

What are your SAT scores?

1100/1600 scale. im ranked 21st out of 265.
Im taking 3 AP classes, Bio, US History, And Psychology.
my unweighted gpa is 4.0
my EC’s are Junior AOH(Senior member), National Honor Society(Vice President), Big Brother which is a way seniors help new freshmen adjust to my high school, i used to row from 2009-2012, i play baseball for my community, i am a parish altar server, i work stands at my parishes bazaars, i am a cashier at my local shoprite, and i ran two blood drives and their committees this year.
I’m from the inner city of Philadelphia, im not sure if that plays a role, but its worth asking. Also i am from a family in which no one has attended college, and am considered an independent going into college.
thanks for any help!
I have an interview set up for this grant, but every email says it does not guarantee admission, and im nervous because this is the school that ive wanted to go to since i was younger!

Your SAT scores are low. Present yourself well at the interview—you never know. Good Luck!

Test scores would place you outside of accept range absent a compelling aspect of your application.
The fact that you are St. Martin de Porres Finalist gives you an opportunity to articulate something compelling.
Underrepresented minority , poverty , 1st generation college could compensate for low test scores , considering strong academic achievement and other application strengths.

Make your best case and demonstrate your desire to achieve academically and serve the community.

Take advantage of the office Multicultural Affairs , this is a tremendous opportunity for you.

Good luck.

Are my chances extremely slim without the Grant nomination? Are the grades that i worked very hard for through my whole life worthless as well as all the community service and sports ive worked on outside of school completely worthless just because i struggle with standardized tests?

Examine the recent common data sets.

Your standardized test scores can be judged against your competition in the Applicant pool. Your grades, ec’s , sports will be a positive component of your application while the test scores are a weakness in your application when judged in the context of your fellow applicants. Now it is your job to make a compelling case for your application.

There will be thousands of applications with similar GPA , EC’s and leadership to your application with SAT scores substantially higher.
The good news is you have an opportunity to make your case via the scholarship interview.
Optimism will serve you better than pessimism.

Good luck.

i undertand! I’ll have to do my absolute best at the interview. I’ll try to incorporate all the positive aspects of my application. thanks again for all the help, i really appreciate it! sorry if i came off as rude before, those are just the questions i had!
