Has Michigan notified this year’s nominees for the prestigious Stamps or Shipman Scholarships yet? If not, does anyone have an idea of when they may do so?
Nobody received anything? I’d thought they would have been out by now…
Bump
I’d love to know this also. Wrote to UM admissions and the response was all plausible deniability about their knowledge. Please let us know if those students have been notified. The one thing in this college process I can’t get over is the desire to constantly leave students in limbo when decisions have been made about programs or scholarships. We’re all wearing the big-boy (or girl) pants over here and won’t cry, but it would make life so much better to move on! Just tell us, colleges! I’m talking to you, Michigan and you UVA Jefferson at-large candidates! (Sorry, my rant for the day.)
I know one person who received a UPS express envelope Feb 28 with a letter from the Univ of Mich President offering a Stamps Scholarship.
Don’t know how trustworthy the above post is since that is the user’s first post, but they should’ve been sent out by now based on previous years.
Follow up email and invitation to stamp scholar weekend went out today.
@RRscat
Sorry for doubting you! Do you know about whether Shipman was sent out as well?
@RRscat Thanks for letting us know! Very helpful for narrowing the college choices realistically.
I think both Shipman and Stamps communication were sent out, based on my past communication with Financial aid office.
"The Office of Financial Aid administers the Shipman and Stamps Scholarships awards them on a rolling basis from now until mid February. "
I have no information about the Shipman, but borgr9’s comments sound reasonable.
I got an email that I was a Shipman Scholar Nominee on February 10. If anyone else is attending the weekend let me know! I’m really excited!
