Standardized Test Scores

What are the lowest SAT and/or ACT scores UPenn has accepted? If their process is truly holistic, will they overlook bad scores?

Depends how bad they are and how good the rest of the app is.

SAT/ACT scores are one piece of the whole, but poor scores can affect your application. It’s like the one C, D,or F on your transcripts.

The lowest they accepted for ACADEMICS (not sports) is around 26-29, but the rest of your application should significantly outweigh this score (extremely impressive and outstanding awards/EC’s, double-triple legacy, received Associate’s degree at Community College before graduating high school, maybe more than 10 AP tests with 5’s, very strong recommendations, etc.)

@pancakegirl: it’d be better if you told us what your scores are, as well as GPA, AP/IB/DE classes taken, and any significant EC.
In order to overcome an ACT of 26-27, you’d need extraordinary EC’s and/or circumstances.
