Standardized Tests- What to report and what not to report

I got a B in AP Biology and wanted to take the SAT II Subject Test and the AP exam to show that I am still competent in Biology. The major I intend on pursuing has little/nothing to do with biology. I got a 3 on the AP exam and a 670 on the SAT II. I plan on taking the SAT II again, but don't think I will have time to re-study for the AP exam as I will have lots of other ones to prepare for. Should I report the 3 (so colleges know it's not a 1 or a 2) and what is a "decent" SAT II score (in terms of relatively competitive schools like Cornell, Georgetown, UC Berkley, etc)?

Let me see if I understand: You got a B in AP Bio and got a 3 on the AP test with a 670 on the Bio SAT II Exam. Is that correct? If so, then all your scores are in sync – from your transcript grade to your AP test grade to your SAT II exam grade – all of them show you are competent in Bio. Scoring a 3 is average, which is respectable. No, it’s not a 4 or 5, but then again you didn’t get an A in the course, so you shouldn’t expect a 4 or 5 on the exam.

If you do not report the grade, but the course appears on your transcript, colleges might think (1) You didn’t take the test because you were unmotivated and lazy or (2) You took the test and scored badly . . . as in you scored a 1. You do not want colleges to think either of those things, so YES you should report the grade.

If you do not intend to pursue Bio in college, then you shouldn’t think of taking the exam again. It’s time to move on.
