I was wondering what standardized tests were required for Stern since I cannot seem to find a definitive answer.
I’m assuming I should at least send in my:
-SAT (I read they only take the highest score, I need clarification)
-2 Subject tests (Math and Physics)
However when I read the undergrad admissions site, it said I should take at least 1 liberal arts Subject Test.
Also I’m not sure if I’m required to submit regents scores, since I am a New York student, and AP exam scores.
To clarify
- Do they take all SAT’s or only the highest.
- What/how many subject tests do I need.
- Am I required to submit my AP exam scores and regents scores.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

That’s NYU’s official policy on standardized tests. It applies to Stern as well.
So if you’re submitting the SAT I results, you are not required to take the subject tests. But usually the more competitive applicants will have a few subject tests. Pretty much everyone takes Math II. If you want to take a second or third, just choose the subjects you are strongest in. It doesn’t have to be a humanities test.
You are not required to submit AP Exam scores or regents exams scores. My school lists our regents scores on our transcripts so NYU did see my scores.
I personally only submitted one SAT I score and 3 AP exam scores and didn’t take or submit any subject tests.
