I live in the Uk and I missed the november deadline for the SAT 1. How do I register as a standby? I tried to contact collegeborad but they only have numbers to the american office. HELP please...I need to call them as soon as possible

You need to get a standby testing form, fill it out, and take it to the test centre on the day of the test with some form of payment enclosed. You'll want to get there early (i.e. if the normal testers are expected to be there by 7:45, you should be there by 7:15) and talk to the proctors/other organizers to get your name on a waiting list. Then, once they check the registered testers in, they will go down the wait list until all the seats are filled.

Good luck!

where do I get the forms?

If your school guidance office has SAT forms, you can go there. Otherwise, call the Collegeboard and they'll mail it to you or otherwise advise you how to find it (I did that from Canada and they didn't charge me anything; I couldn't find the form on the website, but they may have posted it this year around)

Is it very unlikely for a standby to get a seat or do a few people actually get places.

When I took the SAT in Germany, several students took the test as a standby and all standbys with proper paperwork and payment were accommodated.
