@ sfg: did you like how your raiders beat the steelers last week? haha there’s something to cheer about. Gradkowski was big on fantasy football because of that lol

i cant decide if i’d rather the decisions come out friday or tuesday… but it makes me so nervous to think that their decision on me could already be made and is just sitting in a cyber pile waiting to be sent…

I pretty much know for sure decisions will come Tuesday, but I have to admit there is a small, quiet, irrational voice that lingers in the back of my head, whispering “What if it comes Friday? What if it comes Friday?”
Silly head-voice is silly.

Yeah that Steeler game was awesome! It’s all about small consolations. And even though they were blacked out against the Bengals at home three weeks ago, it miraculously came on TV right as they forced a fumble to end the game! Now that I think about it, the Raiders with Gradkowski might be more fun to watch than the mess the 9ers have become. Go us!

That’s true. I feel for you. Look at the bright side: neither of us are New Jersey Nets fans and you have Albert Pujols. And those are the bright sides. Oh, and you got a great pitching staff. Even though my boy Timmy beat your two guys for the Cy! :)

oh and diglett feel better. u wanna be able to fully scream and jump for joy when u get that stanford acceptance letter haha. optimisim never hurts!

Okay. I know I’ve mentioned this a lot but I have to know. Does ANYONE else worry that they aren’t quite ready for a school of Stanford’s rigor? Did ANYONE here to go to a sub-par high school?

applicannot, I just wanted to personally congratulate you on getting in. Though I half want to kill you for getting in already. I am kind of worried that I won’t be able to deal with the work load at Stanford, but my high school is pretty good.

sfg: yea i love pujols but i wish he did a little more during the playoffs which was kind of disappointing for us… i actually don’t know much about baseball so i really dont know about our pitching staff lol

applicannot: everyday i worry about that lol. i did well in high school and my high school’s dec but i’m bracing myself to not be in the top ten anymore lol i heard organic chem is real rough in college…

so cal hs, sends ~15ish to top schools every year and like 50 others to la/berk. but yeah, i’m slightly worried about course load. . .esp cuz i’m not taking calculus this year.

Thanks Anon! And, I’m sorry. I’ve been trying not to flout it - and I’m certainly not trying to brag - but it’s hard not to talk about. Just like all the accepted students (which, hopefully is all of you) won’t be able to stop talking about it on December 15th. I hope this doesn’t go the way of the QB thread, and that we all stay positive. My new high school isn’t bad, but the standards are kind of low. My old high school was atrocious. Everyone here goes to a high school that sends kids to Ivies and the like. This high school, and even my old one, might send one student to a school CCers would recognize ONCE PER YEAR (excluding in-state flagships).

EDIT: Who knows, though. Maybe I’m the great writer Stanford seems to think I am, and maybe my natural time management skills will kick in… and I’ll be fine. There’s always hope!

@applicannot haha I think you need to get an auto response to that question. we are going to get a lot of newcomers in the next few days. @jaywhy, applicannot was a questbridger and they got responses on Dec. 1. QB is a program for lower income students to apply to top universities

Workload, I’m guessing for those who have taken lots of AP classes at one time then the work load might not seem to be too over daunting. I currently have 6 AP classes this semester and in college most kids take around 4-5 classes a semester so if you take 4-5 AP classes a semester and your AP teacher worked your butt off then I assume the transition won’t be too bad. But i could be wrong.
