I just realized I was part of this:) The feeling and realization still hasn’t struck;)

So, out of all the CCers on here, how many of you rank Stanford as your #1 choice?

Don’t know if this has been posted yet, but Stanford’s applications have increased by 5-6% this year: [Applications for Undergraduate Spots Rise at Columbia, Stanford - Bloomberg](<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?)

There were 36,744 applicants last year. http://www.stanforddaily.com/2012/01/17/stanford-receives-almost-37000-applications-for-the-class-of-2016/ A 5.5% increase would mean there were 38,765 applicants.

Stanford’s yield increased last year by 3% (to 73.4%) and they ended up with too many freshmen, so I imagine they will be cautious this year: [Stanford Daily | University braces for large incoming class](http://www.stanforddaily.com/2012/05/14/university-braces-for-large-incoming-class/)

If you assume a target class size of 1,700 and a yield of 74%, the number of accepted applicants would be 2297. Divided by total applicants this suggests an overall acceptance rate of 5.9% (a new record low for Stanford and the same as Harvard’s last year).

Stanford is somewhere between my #2-4 right now. I’m in at my #1, but I haven’t seen any school I applied to yet so all of that could change. :)

I still don’t have a confirmation email. :(

Stanford’s my number 1 :)

Yeah, Stanford is my top choice as well.

I have Stanford more or less tied with Yale at the top.

stanford vs MIT vs Cal

Stanford or HBS.

^I don’t think you can get into HBS from high school directly… O_o

Anyways, how’s school going for everyone?

Terrible, I dislike my school authority system, as you could see from my name, and remaining school curriculums are too boring. At least last year, I took ap calc and comp gov which inspired me. Ap human geo, physical education, and CANADIAN social 11 do not appeal to me at all. Its not that 8000 Canadian troops sent to europe saved the world from facism. I’m incredibly lethargic, not doing any homework or assignments. I often waste my time searching university admission info or organizing my thoughts for Havard and Princeton interviews this week.

ah, that’s too bad HateSMUS.
You don’t like AP Human Geo? Loved that class…

So… what’s everyone up to?

just had my pton interview. swag. also have done nothing productive so far this long weekend, second semester senior year is the laziestttttt

I’m so with you, unicameral2013. I’ve also had pton and harvard interview last week. I’m too lethargic to do any work. I just want to sit back and wait for the result. It’s unfortunate my school’s mid year report includes second term report card (my school has a tri-semester system). I’m justifying myself that the mid-yr report hardly affects the decisions.

I’m getting lazier and lazier too, haha. Thankfully… wait. What am I saying? My teacher’s are trying to ruin my life with homework now more than ever.

-_-

My midyear grades are just first semester and that was done before Christmas. Now I can chillllllllllll since colleges won’t ever see these. I mean, I of course won’t get any C’s or risk getting rescinded but I won’t be pulling allnighters either.

^ I’m in the same exact situation unicameral. Though I never did pull any all-nighters (for academic purposes) in the first place, haha.

I so envy u guys! sigh… I have one more month of painful ‘forced’ studies for mid year report. I think mid year report rly doesn’t matter much as long as I keep all 90+, but I can’t help worrying about it.
