Stanford Class of 2017 RD Discussion

You can find various examples online…although, I believe a grammar book would suit you better.

Stanford had approximately 39,000 applicants this year. The overall admit rate is expected to be less than 6 percent and they have so many “qualified” applicants that they will reject three such applicants for every one they accept.

How did you find that??

Hot damn. 10char

oh geez D: I haven’t gotten any rejections yet so I’m probz gonna be crushed march 28. does anyone know when stanford is releasing yet?

unicameral where else have you been accepted/deferred?

accepted at mit, wustl, and some safer schools. deferred at uchicago EA (possibly because part of my app didn’t get there til mid december :stuck_out_tongue: ) then withdrew because I realized they didn’t have engineering. now just waiting on ivies and stanford… not very hopeful.

what about you?

Got into UChicago EA and a safety school EA, but that is it so far. I was deferred at my ED school.

I’m not very hopeful about the Ivies and/or Stanford either!

nice! well good luck at your ED school and stanford.

haha, Unicameral, Magentaturtle - not too shabby at all.

Isn’t the consensus that Stanford will probably come out on Friday the 29th? Or maybe I just made that up…

That number is more than Harvard’s.

Still time to withdraw my app? Lol

(I wonder where purmou is? Caltech decisions are out…)

aaah unicameral and magentaturtle! You guys have my envy lol.

…Now I feel ashamed just for submitting my app :(

39000 apps…?

Well, I’m screwed.

Congrats unicameral on WashU!

thanks kids <3

seriously i want to know what happened to purmou, the suspense is killing me

Congrats unicameral! It looks like we applied to a few of the same schools, I got into WashU as well  I’m anxiously awaiting Stanford’s decision though since it’s my #1. Good luck to all of you!

Got into CalTech yesterday (really surprised!), and UVa (echols) early along with some safeties. I was deferred SCEA from Princeton, but Stanford is my top choice.

@unicameral yeah, I’m curious too… and I don’t mean it in a malicious way - like I really am curious about how his plan turned out… Purmou still seems to be around, just not here.

just read through this entire thread today…obviously anxious/nervous/excited to hear back from schools already! congratulations everyone on your acceptances!!!

@ undercover caltech with a likely letter? Congrats!

I got into U of Michigan and Uchic EA. Gonna have so much fun at Uchicago’s world class engineering school OTL Got deferred from MIT; only 4 days left till I get rejected. Got likely for Columbia and then Egleston scholar which really surprised me, maybe no one ever applies to Columbia for engineering. Got Regents for UC Berkeley too.

Man I feel like my future is going to be choosing from great schools with crap/non-existent engineering programs or living 5 minutes away from my parents and seeing my mom every day T_T Can’t say I’m not glad to get schools that want me, but I’m desperately relying on Stanford to save me D:

hey wendeli—

got egleston scholar too  and same with mit and uchicago.
but I actually feel really lucky about my choices, i mean, it could’ve been much worse.
so there’s another way of looking at it? ^^
