unicameral2013: why is there “no way” that Stanford will release decisions on Ivy Day?

@Lucya : Well, the official twitter account of Stanford’s admission office tweeted a picture of the admission committee, stating “International committee in progress…” so I guess all our decisions aren’t made yet…

I hope they haven’t made their decisions yet! Stanford contacted my counselor saying that they hadn’t received my midyear report a couple of days ago-- turns out none of my common app schools have received it yet. It’s a week away from decision day!! I’m just so freaked out (sorry, I’m new here), hopefully they haven’t already deemed my application incomplete and chucked it in the bin.

hey guys …they sent me a mail saying that I hadn’t submitted something and date for submission had passed…so they were going to withdraw my app…but I checked on common app and everythings been complete since dec 16…Should i take this as a polite denial…or should i tell them about the matter…I thought the latter works best…but if on the other hand…

^ooh, quiverfox. You should try and straighten that out. I mean this in the most sympathetic way – it sucks to be you. :(

runnerxc it’s hard to articulate but… Ivy day is like a thing for the Ivies and all the other schools are, for the most part, going to respect that. No top school is going to release decisions that day because it looks weird like they’re piggybacking on the ivies. Stanford is completely separate and as good as the ivies so releasing decisions the same day is just weak. that probably doesn’t make any sense but whatever lol

@quiver : Call them now !

@AeryGold,hennebou…Yea I get that The thing is I got the mail here on saturday morning and I have been waiting FOREVER till Monday…I don’t even know If they already withdrew…and even If they didn’t my schools closed and I won’t be able to get any of my transcripts and stuff anyways…bummer:(

Come on.
I would get soooo crazy that I would take the first flight to SF to give them my transcripts myself and be sure they read them !

@quiver- good luck good luck good luck!!! thats so frustrating esp. since its clearly not your fault!!

@unicameral I’m not so sure about that - Berkeley for example releases decisions on ivy day…

1 hr to go fr me guys…hope all goes well…:P

^what are you talking about? 1 hour for what?

1 hour until what ? Until their office opens ?
Well, I’m willing to give them a call too, to check of they received my Counselor’s update, but I know they don’t like when applicants call or send emails (It’s like written everywhere on the common app & the emails they sent me : “DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL”… )

When do they tell us if we got in?

Not in an hour, that’s for sure. I dont know what quiver was talking about.

Umm guys…I called and they sort of granted me a last wish…I have to submit school transcripts by tomorrow…or else…I get hanged:)

Awesome…

@quiverfox
good luck! Nice that they helped you out.

Well, I guess this means decisions are more likely to come out on Friday instead of Wednesday. I thought because of Good Friday that they may decide to have decisions on Wednesday.

Good news quiver !
But do you have to send the transcripts by fax or via the common app ?
I’m still wondering if they got my Counselor’s update…

Email/Fax to colleen’s email id…It seems they sent my counselor a flurry of mails and she didn’t respond to even a single one!!(so not fair) So thats why they withdrew in the first place!!
