Psh, well it’s 20 degrees F in the Midwest and we’re all just starting to take out our winter jackets…

Wait… can I still submit my CSS profile now?

I thought the deadline was yesterday

@nagintapls I had no idea that I had to submit CSS. What should I do?

@Hawkace. Do not fret. Chillax. Yes they do strongly recommend getting the CSS filed before Nov. 15 (priority filing deadline)…as indicated in their application procedure…
<a href=“Requirements and Dates : Stanford University”>Requirements and Dates : Stanford University;
however, they also note under “late applicants”:
<a href=“Late Applicants : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University;

…if you file it ASAP you should be fine…since all the REA applicants will be getting approximations in December anyway …and not until they fill out the FAFSA and IDOCs that will be due sometime before March 1st along with the real tax returns from your parents will you get the “final” accurate award at around the same time as the regular decision candidates who find out (everything) late March before April 1st …

…hope this helps…so get your parents and get to it!

Thanks so much! @gravitas2

Anyone know what the average percent of people deferred -> accepted is? Also, I read that Stanford is going to increase its class size in the future-- do you think this will impact year’s numbers?

@heldenleben - Here is a link to an article discussing last year’s REA numbers. Unlike many other top schools, Stanford defers VERY few students. Those who are deferred are more rare than those who are accepted in REA. Historically, they have taken approximately 15% of those who are deferred. I do not believe the increase in class size is going to affect the Class of 2019, but I may be mistaken. Seems like it was a couple of years out???

<a href=“Stanford accepts 748 for early admission to Class of 2018”>http://www.stanforddaily.com/2013/12/14/stanford-accepts-748-for-early-admission-to-class-of-2018/

Finally got my interview notification. Interviewer said to dress casually. Would a polo and jeans be good?

Can someone please help me? I also didn’t know that I had to fill out the CSS profile.
On the website it also says this:
CSS PROFILE is required for institutional scholarship consideration.
FAFSA is required for consideration for all federal financial aid programs and some state grant programs.
Tax documents are required for consideration for institutional, federal and state aid.

Do I need to send tax documents too or is it just CSS Profile for now?

Lol @starbreath , 70 is ‘cold’ for L.A? @jk1324 Bipolar is literally the exact word for Houston weather. Everyone I know has called it that at least once!

"Psh, well it’s 20 degrees F in the Midwest and we’re all just starting to take out our winter jackets… " Best line of the day…well yesterday @SaphLieRe

@emenya We don’t even have four legit seasons XD There’s “summer” and “slightly less warm interim that isn’t summer but LOL short shorts are still wearable.”

Is anyone planning to submit an arts supplement? I’m gonna submit one or two piano recordings, but I think the deadline for applications with a supplement is December 1. :/

Given that Harvard and Stanford have usually released results on the same day, it seems like they will come out on the 12th this year! I have a couple friends who have likely letters from Harvard stating that the results will come out officially on the 12th (Friday) while their website, like Stanford’s, says that the results will be out by the 15th.

Lol @starbreath fingers crossed I’ll be making my home around there in that weather for the next four years (Ultra wink, wink)

@starbreath same thing except opposite here, it’s winter and slightly less winter-y spring. then back to winter. What, likely letters??? Does Stanford send likely letters to their early applicants?!?!?!?!

If so, it’s un"likely" (aha hahaha) that one will get it. I believe its usually reserved for extreme academic achievers (i.e. intel winners) and/or athletic stars.

^lol love what you did there

@SaphLieRe probably to recruited athletes. The example I gave was regarding athletes recruited by Harvard but the point was that they specified the 12th as their release date.

@heldenleben mkay makes sense… well, sure doesn’t hurt to hope for the 12th! december is coming up pretty quickly anyways (a week until thanksgiving break!!!)
