***Stanford Class of 2019 Applicant Discussion***

LOL @hawkace that is so hilarious! Imagine what you’ll do with the decision email!

@ivyaspirant14‌ nope, bioengineering for me

Honestly the idea of opening the email and having that short period of wait time while it loads is 100% terrifying.

I just submitted my app but I realized I forgot to send my ACT and SAT Subject Test scores in!!! I just requested them to be sent but for ACT it says it’ll take 3-4 days, and SAT Subject Tests is like 1-2 weeks. The website said they want ALL scores to be in by Nov. 1 for SCEA. Am I totally screwed? Should I call first thing Monday? Should I email first?

Sorry for being annoying but I’m just freaking out! Also if they refuse to review my stuff for SCEA, would they push me to the regular applicant pool? Or am I totally out?

@Senior2K15‌, don’t worry. Stanford, like most other colleges, is lenient on materials coming in a few days late if you have no control over it (e.g. post office delay, weather). As long as you submitted your Common Application portion of your application on time, you are fine. Keep in mind that you selected Restrictive Early Action on your application, so the admissions office will not accidentally push you to the regular applicant pool.

I hope that luck is on my side and I get in

I submitted last night from Long Island. Science, Technology and Society looks really interesting. The worst part of my app are my grades, hoping the essays will make up for it!

This is a such a supportive group, hopefully we’ll get to meet each other as Cardinals.

Submitted my app for REA on Halloween night. My test scores aren’t exactly where they’d like to be for my racial group, but my ECs are pretty nice. Almost didn’t get in my teacher recommendation on time because my second teacher got confused and answered an email from a year ago about a job recommendation instead! haha

Did they announce anything like how many students submitted an REA application yet?

I haven’t heard any such news yet @nagintapls‌ . Would they have stats like that that fast?

My grades are not all that but I feel really good about my essays :D

Not sure, but for Georgia Tech, they released the number of applications they got for EA.

What did you guys put for awards and honors? All I really have is honor roll stuff and AP awards. I spent hours upon hours on essays so I hope I have a chance. and like everyone is saying this thread seems supportive and nice.

@AndrewJeska‌ Don’t worry. I talked to a couple of alums and they said regular awards like honor roll, ap awards, honors societies, etc. are fine.

Hi everyone. First time using CC. I’m an international student from Venezuela, top of the class but not so good SAT’s. Going for Energy Resource Engineering. Stanford is my dream school, I really hope I can get in.

Welcome all new comers!

The only ‘award’ I had besides school and AP was National Achievement… and I’m really sure that that is really an award. MVP for soccer? But I just put it in the EC description.

@MMVenezuela‌ I don’t know why Stanford isn’t everyone’s dream school. What’s not to like haha! My sister on the other hand is just like “Eww, Stanford sucks.” She calls them “Imitation IVY trash” lol.

Hi fellow Stanford applicants! I also applied REA…however, my counselor still has not fully submitted her part. She is frustrating me, it caused me a lot of stress but at this point I’m just going to ask her to do it tomorrow. I’m super nervous for December already :/

The one thing I hate about Stanford is that it makes all my other college choices look horrible haha

Just scheduled an interview with an alumnus. I’m actually freaking out.

@KelMoo when is your interview

@StanfordOneDay. If you are from North Carolina but not from Raleigh-Durham area…you may not be offered an interview like @KelMoo who is from Maryland…

So…don’t worry if you are not offered an interview…even California students are not offered an interview yet!

I live in New Jersey, its in the list on the website. But, I was never contacted. What do I do to get an interview? Do I just wait?
