Stanford Class of 2023 Discussion

Did anyone get financial aide letter yet?

@carol97 I still haven’t received my financial aid/award letter yet, but Stanford said it would be released within a week of the decision.

@geekembrace May I know your scores pls

@mrstem Thanks! Were you able to sign up for the admit reception? I tried to but I got an error message.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

No. Violates Terms of Service.

@carol97 I was able to, but I never got an email with the medical release forms and all other legal forms I needed to fill out (since I’m a minor). Maybe there was too much traffic when you were signing up?

In Historical event short answer question, are historical events something that would be on a history textbook, or could it just be anything that happened in the past?

Has anyone that was accepted received financial Aide award yet?

@Rgdodp all the prompts are completely open for interpretation. Try not to think about what you think stanford wants or what others are probably writing about. Just write something that gives another layer to your personality.

@carol97 I received mine yesterday!

anyone know if stanford has cutoffs per school?

@imnobodywhoareu Stanford doesn’t accept by major

Just submitted! i’m soo nervous i checked everything twice and still feel i put something wrong in and btw i don’t get any emails from Stanford, aren’t they supposed to email you once you’ve put them on your college list.

Is anyone applying from the UK?

idk if I’ll get an answer from here, but I was wondering if anyone (who applied to Stanford) knows if you are allowed to upload supplemental materials/upload any updates on the applicant portal? Thanks so much!

I sent in the application an hour late

Hi guys I’m an international applicant from Brunei can anyone tell me my chance of getting in!! Many thanks in advance

Reflection

Strengths: course difficulty (I was told that only A-level further maths itself was equivalent to 9 APs) aerodynamics research paper, SAT IIs, maybe SAT I (at least math section was 790), extracurriculars related to my passion for building and constructing, leadership roles, remote-piloting expert on construction, design, and everything to do with model aircraft/drones
Weaknesses: ethnicity/race, extracurriculars still. Comparing myself to a strong US applicant means I have no exposure to any competitions and winning any national awards…

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Not received anything yet! waiting for April 1
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:

General Comments: Hoping for the best! I just have to say that the opportunities available in the US are WAYYYY more than what I can gather during my high school career. I wish I could participate in competitions like SIEMENS, INTEL, USAMO etc.

@solidcashmoney I’m sorry but A-Level Further Maths is not equivalent to 9 APs. It’s barely equivalent to Calculus BC in terms of difficulty.

@solidcashmoney you’re practically in lol even though i have no experience, it sounds really well put together good luck hope you get in xx

Is there anything like February Update form (which MIT offers) for Stanford? Else, how do I tell colleges of any significant achievement I have done?
