haha i reread it again, and i got 2600 in loans too. yay for me

it's not that they weren't good with aid, it's just that CC kids tend to be wealthier than your average Stanford acceptee (note: can afford multiple times taking SAT, applying to dozens of different schools) as shocking as that may sound (my boyfriend doesn't even have a computer at Stanford...it's kids like that where the aid goes). I have a friend who's total EFC is about 4000 a year, and most of the rest of it is in aid. He is the most amazing person I have ever met... I actually met him by way of CC, ironically.
Stanford either gives you a ton of aid or next to nothing, at least that is my experience having met lots of people at Stanford. If you get a significant amount (more than 2600 in loans), it's because you really need it, and you'll probably be working a campus job anyway just for money in general, loans aside.

I'm not talking about kids just on CC, I'm talking about kids OFFLINE (in the real world). That's just what I have observed anyhow.

Yeah. Try this: $22k in grants. Ha ha. I'm impoverished. Not quite. I still have to pay $17 a year. But I'm good with that! Anyone want to help me convince my parents how great this is and convince the world it's better than a full ride at UNC or Wake Forest?

ok um how do u figure out those numbers??? is it in that big envelope??? or on the website?

you get the financial aid estimate with your acceptance packet

Does Stanford give work study $? If we chose to do this, would it replace our loans or help out our EFC?

I thought their financial aid was really good, because I'm kinda poor compared to you guys I guess, although I think we live pretty comfortably...

29K in grants, 4K in loans, 2K with work and 7K in family contributions.

I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of job would they give you around campus if you took the work financial aid?
