<p>I just received an email from a Stanford alumni for setting up the interview.
I had a few questions regarding that..when they say it is optional..do they mean that if they offer you interview and you reject it, it doesnt matter..or does it just mean that because it is in selected cities, so it is optional?</p>

<p>Most interviews for college are optional these days. In no way does that mean you shouldn’t take it. Statistically, colleges are more likely to admit candidates who opted for an interview. MIT, for example, said that 13% of those who interviewed got admitted, whereas only 3% of those who opted out of an interview were admitted. Take the interview if you’re offered it. Just my two cents.</p>
