Can I get into Stanford as a legacy with a 29 or 30 ACT along with good EC?

Could you list your ECs and unweighted GPA, because it’s hard to tell without that info

It also depends on how strong your legacy is to be honest.

Even with legacy, Stanford still would probably be a high reach. Although legacy is considered, your ACT score is still below their average. Legacy separates the top applicants, but doesn’t usually allow for an applicant below their average to get in. I know that may be hard to hear, but I’m sure that you would rather me be truthful. However, if you have some outstanding, unique extracurriculars, Stanford is still possible. The most sure fire way to help your chances would be to raise your ACT to at least a 33.

If any of your parents is a faculty there, you may have a slight chance. Legacy would help a little bit, but it would not close a gap of 4-6 points in ACT. If you get in, it would be likely depending on your EC if you do have something spectacular there. I’ve read that children of faculties would have several times higher chance to get in but it does not say it would have lower requirement. Anyway, several times of 6.6% is still not very high.

ECs are very good. Too many to type on here. GPA unweighted 4.0 taken all the hardest classes my school has to offer, my favorite and by far most time consuming EC is 4 years of football. And hopefully captain this year

How good is the football at your school? Any chance for recruitment? Can you outline a few most appealing EC?
