And of course, 8 people in my family went to Standford, both parents, aunt, uncle, 2 grandparents, 1 great aunt, and my great-grandfather (class of 1928 woo woo)

Will my legacy help at all? As you kow the difficulty in getting has increased, my great-grandfather practically walked in the door and signed up.

from my perception of the importance of legacy, i say ur in...far in haha.

Assuming that you don't write god-awful essays, I would say you've got incredible odds (I'm jealous!). If your family has donated often, you're odds are even better!

i think u people are overestimating the importance of legacies...although s/he has a good shot, i doubt s/he is a shoo-in at stanford.

Eagle Scout, varsity sports, legacy, solid stats: I'd say you have a very good chance.

I've heard that Stanford values legacy less than other schools. I don't know what other schools, but it's something to keep in mind.

it seems like they try and talk down legacy but the fact that admission rate is double for legacy is pretty suspect. I say shoo in.
