Stanford Likely Letter

Hey cinderalla101, would you mind putting up your stats, and if not comfortable PM, so I can see what kind of overall person they are admitting?

^ Please Cinderella101 post your stats or please PM your stars I want to see what kind of students recieves likleys

haha congrats!!! how do you feel? pretty excited i bet! yes, that is the OFFICIAL acceptance letter, so you prolly won’t get one in april i dont think, but im not sure. but it says ACCEPTED, so dont fret, it’s more hardcore than the likely letters

@diriris1 and @StanfordCS: Um I would ask lalafilter20 instead. I just got waitlisted from WashU. I was individual semi for both Intel and Siemens though, that might have helped with Stanford.

^ WashU waitlists everyone they don’t think will attend. Stanford sent you a likely letter because they’re certain you’re going to get into every school you apply to. WashU is also certain of this and waitlisted you to ensure that you don’t hurt their yield (also it artificially lowers their acceptance rate).

If you accepted a spot on the waitlist, I can almost guarantee they’d accept you.

cinderella, Wash U is in the habit of waitlisting tons of applicants, including those whom they suspect are viewing it as their safety, so it probably doesn’t reflect poorly on your stats. : )

I’m in the same situation as cinderella. Early approval from Stanford, waitlisted at WUSTL…oh well, can’t have 'em all.

@cinderella101 Yeah, that’s the same letter I got. Congrats! I agree that they don’t really sound like “likely letters” as we are given an early acceptance. Harvard’s “likely letter” sounds similiar to Stanford’s too.
