STANFORD moves to 4th in LEAKED USNews rankings

Unlike the previous "Penn-Yale Tie for Third" iteration, these ones look legitimate.

The top ten:
1. Princeton
2. Harvard
3. Yale
4. Stanford/Caltech/MIT
7. Penn
8. Duke
9. Chicago/Columbia/Dartmouth

STANFORD moves to 1st in MY rankings

stanford
...

berkeley

Stanford has always been first in my rankings.

Is Cornell 10th?

Wow these rankings do look pretty legitimate. It like it :)

do the rankings actually matter? Basically, take the top 10 universities, put them in a hat, and pull them out. You get your order ;)

^Of course you have a point but its still nice if your university moves up, you know what I mean?

I just the HYPSMC as top 6 unlike last year

"cough" hoax "cough"

Not a hoax, that's my picture, and I bought the rankings yesterday at Barnes and Noble.

http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k226/calidan87/?action=view&current=29a53052.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch3

You can also check the thread in Search and Selection for more info.

Glad to see Stanford where it deserves to be! ;)

I highly highly doubt its a hoax. For one thing several other CCers agree and I don't know why the would if its fake. Also look at the scans they pretty much prove they're real. I'm going to annoy my Penn friend untill he bursts!! (he started it last year)

yeah this is not a hoax. i just bought a copy of the rankings at b&n.

THIS IS NOT A HOAX (echoing what n1bigdude said)!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, Stanford moves up. W00T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, the two schools i always thought were tops (in undergraduate education) are Stanford and Yale.

The problem is the huge gap between PHY and the rest of the field.

I agree Stanford's overall score was 94 while Yale's was 98. That a pretty big gap...

Chicago up to 9th...isn't that 6 spots? Good for them though.

Thank god Duke and Penn didn't beat schools like MIT and Stanford this year. That's really absurd when that happens.

Haha...all my top 3 choices are ranked #4.

If 95% of Stanford freshman were in the top 10% of their class, what would that do to the numbers? For example, WashU is ranked more "selective" than Stanford b/c of it's top 10% / SAT combo. I may be wrong, but it seems like the gap b/w Stanford and the top 3 may primarily be a reflection of a more holistic, anti-rankings admissions process. But I don't have the numbers and the weightings...maybe somebody does?

Um, no, stam. There's one word to explain our performance in that category:

"Athletes."
