Stanford, Notre Dame, UC's..: Too Many Options?

Hi there. I know there was a similar post a year or so ago, but I am facing a similar problem. While I will not know about my official admission into Stanford (or not) until April 1st, some of my teachers who recommended me via Questbridge have told me that have “good things” from Stanford professors and admissions officials.

When I did not receive the National Merit Scholarship through Questbridge, only Notre Dame kept my application in the Early Action decision and I have been notified both of admission and a-reapplyable-full ride (given certain criteria are met every year). I am Catholic, but I live no where near Indiana (I am Northern Californian).
However, Stanford has always been my dream school, but there appears to be this allure to Notre Dame of trying something new and fitting in with my faith in a place renown for excellent research opportunities but not so much for my selected major, Environmental Science.

Not knowing about Stanford is driving me bonkers. Meanwhile, I’ve been accepted into amazing UC’s such as Davis and San Diego, which are also renown for research (especially in the environmental field).

I guess this sounds a bit rambly. What I guess I’m trying to ask is if I have applied to too many schools? Is there such thing as buyer’s remorse with college? What should I do?

Check Stanford’s twitter. They are releasing notifications on 3/30 at 4:00pm PT.

For admission? I thought April 1st was the date.

While I hope you get into Stanford, realize that it’s extremely unlikely for anyone that they will get in. Only 4.7% of students get in, so do not place your bets on Stanford. Also, Stanford professors and admission officers don’t contact your teachers about your admission decision, so don’t let them fool you. Keep praying though, because you never know. You already got into Notre Dame (amazing), so I would be mentally prepared to be okay with going there if Stanford doesn’t fall through. Good luck!

Thank you!
