Stanford or John Hopkins for grad CS?

OK, I just submitted a grad application to JHU and I feel pretty strongly that I will be accepted there. I also found Stanford has a CS program that I can do and from my research if I apply I will have a 50/50 chance of acceptance. However, I have to wait 1-2 years before applying at Stanford while if JHU accepts me I can start this fall.

My question: Considering the 1-2 more years wait time at Stanford, does it makes sense to start at JHU this fall or wait for Stanford?

Why the big delay for Stanford?

Hopkins has rolling admission, so I can apply now and get admitted for the fall, if they accept me.

Stanford has fixed application deadlines and I missed this years. I can apply next year but they want me to take a couple classes as a non-degree student to prove myself first, so it’d be best to apply to start Fall 19 as a martriculated student.

The NDO classes at Stanford would count toward the program if I am admitted but I don’t think they’d count toward Hopkins as transfer classes.

I can’t see waiting around for a Stanford deal that may never happen.

I second @colorado_mom. That’s a costly two years with no guarantee.

@engineer4life is this for your third college degree??

Third degree, yes.

If you can get into Hopkins now, go for that.
