Hello everyone, just looking from a little piece of advice, especially from Stanford students. I’m really passionate about food and cooking. I’m actually writing my stanford essays and would like to know if it would be wise to talk about different aspects of my passion for cooking in all my essays?
For example:
Main common app essay- talked about my love for cooking and how I grew up from it
Intellectual vitality- Internship in a professional kitchen
What matter to u most and why?- talking about a traditional family recipe
When I went to a Stanford information session, the admissions officer mentioned how you should look at each application component as a part of the puzzle, and should try to present something unique in each part of the app, in order to give the admissions officers as much info about you as possible.
Thats a fantastic and original idea. Go for it!!! My S did something very similar when he applied. He loved to fish. Basically everything in his application reflected this passion. When he received his acceptance letter they actually mentioned it.
Ok thank you everyone for you’re advice. I’ll try as far as possible to show that I am passionate about cooking but also try to refer to other aspects and qualities.
