Does Stanford bring accepted students to campus in the spring?

Yes. It’s called Admit Weekend. If you are a low-income student, you will be offered a travel grant.

What qualifies as low-income, do you know?

The travel grants have already been received by qualified students. If you haven’t gotten one, you probably didn’t qualify. However, you could certainly call the admissions office to see if it’s possible you could get a waiver. I have an EFC of 0 with an income below the poverty line.

@applicannot, how can that be and they havent even release decisions yet?

^Applicannot got in EA. I assume they’ll send the grants out to RD acceptees as well.

what about for people living far far away, like in Asia? do they still get travel grants?

i’m not an EA admit, but i think some people would benefit from this question.

I doubt that internationals are flown in for Admit Weekend. At most schools - not 100% certain about Stanford - international students have a short orientation prior to the regular orientation.

yep… ISO (international student orientation) starts like 4 days before NSO (new student orientation) in sept. My roommate’s from asia as well so I know a fair amount about international student stuff… he said ISO is a lot of fun and really helpful
